Dee is grateful to her family members, friends, teachers, and librarians who encouraged her love of reading and writing. She is also thankful for her wonderful editors, past and present. In addition, Dee is indebted to her incredible critique partners. Most of all, she appreciates all those who have read her books!
Dee graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Education. She tutored college math and taught at the elementary level in Ohio, California, and Texas. She was also a teacher's assistant for the gifted program in Alaska. After she had her own children to experiment on, she stayed home and took up writing.
Besides writing, Dee Leone's interests include attempting to learn how to golf, amateur photography, scrapbooking, and travel (except for the actual traveling part). She is a member of SCBWI, GSDRA, and CRA. She enjoys devouring books and chocolate… one figuratively and one literally.

Dee Leone Children's Author
Author Dee Leone
Dee is married and has two children. They turned out great despite the fact that one parent is the aforementioned author.
The eldest is an aspiring author, an extremely fast reader, and is excellent at editing. She spends the little free time she has preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
The younger daughter usually had her feet on a four-inch-wide beam instead of her nose in a four-inch-thick book. She made up for that by reading colossal medical textbooks while earning her doctorate.
Dee’s husband is an adrenaline junkie. He can be found climbing cliffs, rappelling down waterfalls, gliding on zip-lines, biking, running, or golfing. Alternatively, he might be napping from all the exertion.

Picture books, leveled readers, middle grade novels, non-fiction, and silly verse are some of the things Dee enjoys writing. She has had more than 20 reproducible books published in the educational market, covering topics such as language arts, science, and holidays.
In addition, dozens of her word puzzles, poems, songs, plays, short stories, and teaching ideas have appeared in magazines such as Highlights for Children, Humpty Dumpty, and Children's Digest. She is also the author of online articles, including some about Disneyland.
Dee is currently working on many projects, including screenplays. Though animation scripts are usually developed in-house, Dee is writing in her house and figures that should qualify.
